RECAP | Company Visit to Ferrero Hangzhou Factory

22 十月 2024

On October 18th, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) organized a factory visit to the Ferrero Hangzhou Factory, attracting around 50 participants.

Among those in attendance were CICC Chairman Lorenzo Riccardi and Board Member Emilio Cassanelli, who moderated the session.

John Yang, General Manager of Ferrero Food (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd., shared the Ferrero success story.

Founded in 1946, the Ferrero Group is now the third-largest company in the global chocolate confectionery market, employing over 47,000 people across more than 50 countries and regions.

After outlining Ferrero's history, Mr. Yang detailed the company's development in China, which began in 1990s. In 2015, Ferrero's first Chinese factory, Ferrero Food (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd., commenced operations, marking a significant milestone in the Group's Asian expansion. This factory is also the first Ferrero facility globally to achieve full ISO certifications.

During the Q&A session, CICC members from various sectors—including mechanical, logistics, and food & beverage—engaged in a productive discussion with Mr. Yang.

Following the discussions, the Ferrero Hangzhou Factory hosted a buffet lunch featuring Italian cuisine. In the afternoon, visitors were led on a tour of the facility, showcasing the complete production and packaging processes for Rocher and Kinder products.

Later, in pursuit of new opportunities and collaborations, the CICC visited the Qiantang District of Hangzhou for further exchange activities. CICC Chairman Lorenzo Riccardi held a roundtable discussion with leaders from the Hangzhou Municipal Government and Qiantang District, exploring potential future cooperation.

Special thanks to Ferrero Shanghai and Hangzhou Team for great contribution to this visit!
