Members meeting - Shanghai jurisdiction (Anhui/Jiangsu/Shanghai/Zhejiang) - October 21st - Post Event

On Saturday October 21st the fifth CICC Members` Meeting took place in Shanghai and was attended by more than 70 companies from Shanghai jurisdiction. The Secretary General Giulia Gallarati and the Chairman Davide Cucino attended the meeting, together with the whole consular representation, the General Consul Stefano Beltrame and the Consuls Bartolomeo Lamonarca and Ludovica Murazzani.

The H.E. Ambassador of Italy in the P.R.C., Ettore Francesco Sequi took part in the meeting as well, and during the welcome greeting speech he underlined the importance of Sistema Italia and the need to cooperate and be solid to successfully deal with the Chinese market.

Then, the CICC`s Shanghai and Suzhou Manager Simona Lodolo presented the Chamber`s activities, the new projects under development and the next CICC scheduled events. Following, Carlo D’Andrea, Chairman at the Shanghai Chapter of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, held a speech dealing with the importance of openness, collaboration and definition of a unified regulation, in line with the Chinese increasing willing to open the economy toward the international market and foreign investments.

A further insight about the latest trends in the international economy was given by Mary Boyd from The Economist with her speech about “Business Environment for Foreign Investments in China”, dealing with China’s role, opportunities, challenges and strong points in the current international context.

Later, a Q&A session and panel discussion during which the speakers, together with the Ufi Filters Manager Luca Biagini, gave the participants the opportunity to listen to a further insight into the topics, ask questions and share their personal opinions and points of view.
