Mezzo-soprano singer Valentina Volpe Andreazza and Italian conductor and composer Roberto Fiore will be two of the special guests of Panda D'Oro Gala Award 2024, the flagship event organized by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce that will be held in Shanghai on June 15th at W Shanghai - The Bund.

Valentina Volpe Andreazza is a mezzo-soprano and the creator of the Music4Diplomacynetwork, which reflects her understanding of music as a tool for dialogue between peoples and the voice as a tool for communication. Her music and culture intertwine in a musical and anthropological journey of discovery of the other, transforming the foreign into closeness.

Roberto Fiore is a dedicated Italian conductor and composer with a rich history of collaboration with orchestras worldwide. Since 2016, Roberto has been based in China, where he has been privileged to serve as the Principal Conductor and Founder of the Shanghai Nova Sinfonietta.

During the evening, Roberto will conduct the orchestra for a live performance accompanying Valentina's voice, bringing you on an immersive journey into the italian opera music dimension.

THEME OF THE NIGHT

This year's theme took the inspiration from the 700 anniversary of Marco Polo’ passing away, the Venetian explorer and merchant who during the 13th Century embarked on a journey across Asia. This figure is remembered as a symbol of the intermediation between East and West, a staple for cultural exchange and connection. Marco Polo’s character has been a continuous source of inspiration for the diplomatic and cultural relationship between China and Italy and this year the CICC decided to include it in its great Gala evening with an awarding ceremony.
