The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) joined Invest Shanghai for a business visit, focusing on innovation, business opportunities, and winter sports development. Led by CICC Chairman Lorenzo Riccardi, alongside Board Member Emilio Cassanelli, Public Affairs Manager Wei Chen, and Italian business representatives, the delegation explored two key landmarks showcasing Shanghai’s commitment to technological advancement and sports infrastructure.
On February 8, the delegation visited the Shanghai Planetarium, the world’s largest and most advanced planetarium. Featuring state-of-the-art simulation systems, AI-powered exhibits, and interactive displays, the facility highlights China’s advancements in space research, and astronomy. Beyond its scientific significance, the planetarium plays a crucial role in economic development, attracting tourism, fostering technological innovation, and inspiring future generations in high-tech industries.
On February 9, the delegation visited the newly opened Shanghai L-SNOW Ski Resort, one of the world’s largest indoor ski facilities. This cutting-edge complex reflects China’s strategic investment in winter sports, supporting the country’s growing interest in skiing and snowboarding, particularly following the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games. The development of indoor ski resorts contributes to sports tourism, infrastructure growth, and year-round athlete training, reinforcing Shanghai’s position as a hub for sports innovation and economic expansion in the winter sports industry.
