      The informative workshop will address the challenges SMEs will face in their business dealings with China in 2013. You will be updated on current trends, new issues and provided with the tools to continue protecting your business effectively in the coming year. The workhop will focus on the following topics:   China`s current IPR landscape Update on recent developments in the Chinese IP law IP related challenges relevant to maintaining competetiveness on the Chinese market An opportunity to discuss your specific issues with our qualified IP-expert Helpdesk Expert Martin Seybold will cover these topics during an interactive presentation. You are welcome to ask questions throughout the presentation and during the dedicated Q&A time. You may also book a private One-On-One IPR consultation session with the expert following the workshop. One-On-One IPR Consultation Sessions If you would like to receive confidential One-on-One advice about your business in China, sign up for a free, 20-minute consultation with the experts of the China IPR SME Helpdesk or the EU SME Centre. To ensure you have a chance to meet with the experts, please book your session in advance by indicating your interest when you register. Please specify the nature of your question and the expert you wish to book a session with. The One-on-One consultations are open to European SMEs on a first-come, first-served basis. Any information you provide to the EU SME Centre and the China IPR SME Helpdesk with be treated as confidential. Speaker Biography Martin Seybold, Lawyer, Seybold Associates Martin is head of his own consultancy firm in Beijing. He has over 10 years of experience advising European SMEs and scientific institutions on China IP issues. His specialities are enforcement of IP rights and hands-on IP strategies for foreign enterprises, as well as licensing and IP registrations in China. Martin is a German qualified lawyer, holding a doctor`s degree in constitutional law and a LL.M. degree in international and European economic law. He has in-depth experience on different IP approaches between China and Europe, and resulting conflicts. He is fluent in written and spoken Chinese. Examples of his daily business are: IP enforcement through Chinese authories, coordination of IP litigations, representation in arbitration and mediation, drafting of IP related contracts and management of IP portfolios in China. Registration and cancellation China IPR SME Helpdesk events are only open to European Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and SME intermediary organisations such as embassies and consulates, chambers of commerce and trade associations. This event is closed to law firms and business consultants. If you meet the criteria and would like to attend please register by emailing rsvp-china@china-iprhelpdesk.eu with the name and date of the event in the subject line and your company information.
