The Italian Gala Dinner 2011 in Beijing

The Italian Gala Dinner consists of an exclusive soireé,

The Italian band Nello and the Cats (NATC)

Founded in 2010 in Shanghai their repertoire is mostly Italian rock and pop. Being already very popular in Shanghai, where they played in some major events like the opening of ENIT exhibition `Italy Comes to you` and the German Ball 2011, their performance at The Italian Gala Dinner will be their first time ever in Beijing.

The Huangmei Opera

Originated from the regions of Anhui, Hubei and Jiangxi at the end of the 18th century, the opera is a form of rural folksong and dance. The music is simple and short and performed with a pitch that hits high and stays high for the duration of the song. Huangmei costumes are generally less extravagant compared to the other Chinese opera branches and greater emphasis is given on the singing. Being so different from the typical rhythmic Chinese opera makes the Huangmei Opera a unique one.
