Dear Members and Friends, The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce is glad to invite you to the webinar "Presentation of the Business Survey Results 2020" on February 8th, 2021.     The survey was created by the CICC in collaboration with International Business School Suzhou at Xi'an Jiaotong Liverpool University (IBSS, XJTLU). It focuses on five main sessions: company overview, strategic choices, financial performance, business environment and outlook. ​Dear Members and Friends, The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is glad to invite you to the seminar "Tapping New F&B Growth Opportunities in China and Chongqing” that will take place on January 27, 2021, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm (Beijing Time) both online and offline (CICC Chongqing Office). The seminar is organized in collaboration with EU SME Centre.     Event description   2020 was a turbulent year for many European F&B exporters to China. Many SMEs have seen their market share decrease, their export costs increase dramatically, and have encountered significant obstacles and delays when dealing with the Chinese customs and new COVID-19 import requirements. Still, China’s food and beverage market remains an attractive market for European F&B SMEs: new preferences for healthy and imported foods are supplemented by the integration of supply chains and the emergence of new retail sectors. The end of the pandemic has started, and consumer spending is expected to return growing in the first months of the year. This online workshop will assist European F&B producers to understand the new opportunities in the Chinese F&B market, both nation-wide as well as specifically in Chongqing and the Central/Southwestern region.  Specifically, it will provide: An overview of opportunities in the F&B market in Chongqing and the wider Southwest China region; Insights on how to overcome COVID-19import-related restrictions and addressing new requirements for exporting F&B products in China – with a focus on Chongqing, Chengdu and Xi’an; A deeper understanding of newF&B growth opportunities in China, with a focus on digital consumers and marketplace.   About the Speakers   Pablo Recio Gracia - Mr. Recio has been living and working in China since 2005. During this time, he developed a strong knowledge of the Chinese market, in particular relating to F&B import and distribution processes and trade barriers, from both a legal and commercial standpoint; and attracting Chinese investment into specific projects or regions. Currently, he is the managing director of Eibens, a company established in 2005, with two offices in Beijing and Madrid. Eibens focuses on the F&B sector, as well as cosmetics and e-commerce. It providestraining, market intelligence, market entry or follow-up to European SMEs, international trade promotions agencies and public companies.   Gianluca Luisi - After his studies, Gianluca Luisi works for some consultancy firms, with a special focus to the Chinese market. In 2014, he joins the newly opened Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing as Head of Commercial Affairs. After 3 years of full engagement in this government startup, Gianluca decides to get back to the private sector as entrepreneur. Together with a big Chinese company active in the F&B industry, he sets up a joint venture, DeZhuang International, with the aim of creating innovative Chinese food concepts for overseas markets. He now also serves as Secretary General at the World Chilli Alliance, a nonprofit organization aimed at fostering exchanges within the chili industry, and Board Member of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China.   Please note, seats are limited. Dear Members and Friends,  China-Italy Chamber of Commerce is pleased to invite you to the webinar “Chinese Standards & Compliance for European Exporters”, organized in collaboration with the EU SME Centre  and the Seconded European Standardisation Expert in China (SESEC) Project. The webinar will be held on January 28th, 2021 from 16:00 to 17:30.   The webinar will provide an overview of how the Chinese standardization system is structured and it will provide guidance and practical tips on how to ensure that products exported from the EU and China are in compliance with relevant Chinese standards and technical requirements, both under normal trade and cross-border e-commerce; as well as for key sectors such as F&B, consumer products, and cosmetics. This webinar is the first of a webinar series to be organized in the field of standards, conformity assessment and compliance in China. In fact, standards and compliance remain one of the main reasons why products exported from the EU to China encounter delays at the Chinese customs. The webinar series aims to address this issue by increasing the awareness of EU exporters; it will focus on horizontal issues, as well as on specific industries where EU exporters have a large presence in China.    About the speakers: Dr. Betty XU, Seconded European Standardization Expert in China  Betty Xu, took the position as Seconded European Standardization Expert in China in Sept 2014. Seconded European Standardization Expert (SESEC) is a project co-funded by European Commission, EFTA, three official European SDOs (CEN, CENELEC and ETSI). The purpose of the project is to support EU-China co-operation in standardization. Dr. Betty Xu had more than 10 years’ experience in industry, first as the software/hardware developer in an IT/Automation Company (from 2000-2002) , R&D leader in a big household appliance company (2006-2008), then as the standards drafter, and standardization Director in a giant European electrical equipment manufacturer (2008-2013). Dr. Betty Xu migrated to Australia and had been working for Standards Australia since April 2013. Dr. Betty Xu also had 8 years’ experience in Standardization and Technical Regulation. She was the drafting leader for several China national Standards and was involved in 2 IEC standards drafting. She specially worked in the standardization area when she was the Standardization and Technical Regulation Director for North East Asia in Siemens Ltd China, from 2008 -2013. After working for industry for almost 10 years, Dr. Betty Xu had the chance to work in a national standards developing organization, Standards Australia, in 2013. Where she gained more experience and more understanding of the well-developed economy and its standards development strategy, scheme and process.   Dr. Martina Gerst, Senior Technical Adviser for Market Access China Dr. Gerst is a senior Technical Adviser/Trainer for Market Access China. She has more than 15 years of China experience. During this time, she has advised EU SMEs about market access to China, especially standards & conformity, and IPR, in different sectors such as F&B, Electric/Electronics, ICT/e-commerce, or automotive. In addition, she has participated in R&D projects about mechanical engineering and ICT.
