On December 5th, 2025, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), in collaboration with the Mechanical Engineering Working Group (MEWG) and the Energy and Environmental Protection Working Group (EEPWG), organized a productive business trip and company visit to Jiangsu GMO Hi-Tech Co., Ltd. in Jingjiang, Jiangsu Province. The event, which hosted a total of 30 participants, provided attendees with an in-depth look at GMO Hi-Tech's advanced energy solutions and sustainability efforts.

The day started with a visit to GMO Hi-Tech’s headquarters and new factory. Delegates had the opportunity to tour the state-of-the-art zero-emission facility, where they observed innovative manufacturing processes in green electricity, solar thermal energy, and air energy solutions. This tour highlighted GMO Hi-Tech’s commitment to sustainable energy and technological innovation.

After the tour, the seminar part of the event began with opening remarks from Emilio Cassanelli, CICC Board Member, and Ke Da, Vice Coordinator of MEWG and General Manager of Thermowatt. Both speakers emphasized the importance of Italian Chinese collaboration in advancing energy transition and sustainability.

Mr. James Zhu, CEO of GMO, followed with a presentation on the company’s impressive growth despite global energy challenges. He discussed GMO Hi-Tech’s focus on innovation and its zero-emission facility, which is a key step towards achieving sustainable energy solutions.

The next segment featured a company overview and production center introduction by Jerry Zhu, General Manager of the Overseas Sales Department at GMO Hi-Tech. He provided a detailed look into the company’s technological achievements and the major international projects currently underway in Australia, South Korea, and Kenya.

Following the company overview, Ms. Guo Shan, Founding Partner of Hutong Research, delivered a keynote speech interpreting China’s Five-Year Plan with a focus on energy sustainability, carbon reduction, and emission targets. Her speech outlined China's approach to clean energy and green exports, with a focus on sustainable development and global collaboration.

The event then transitioned to a roundtable discussion on the topic: “Product Innovation for Energy Savings: Improving Efficiency and Extending Product Lifespan.” The panel, moderated by Ke Da, included Luigi Minervini, Sales Manager for Asia at Ansaldo Energia and Chairman of Ansaldo Gas Turbine Technology Co., Ltd; Ms. Guo Shan, Founding Partner of Hutong Research; and Peter Li, Deputy General Manager of GMO Hi-Tech. They discussed how continuous innovation in energy-efficient products can play a key role in reducing carbon footprints and extending product lifespans.

The event concluded with a Q&A session, followed by a networking lunch, where delegates had the opportunity to engage in further discussions and explore potential business collaborations.
