The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce organized, together with its Italian Quality & Lifestyle Council (IQLC), an exclusive networking lunch for its Members with Arch. Mario Cucinella, Founder & Creative Director of Mario Cucinella Architects and Testimonial for Beijing for the VIII Edition of the Italian Design Day.

The event was supported by the Embassy of Italy to the P.R.C. and the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing and organized within the framework of the Italian Design Day, an initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and supported by the Ministry of Culture.

Arch. Cucinella, in his talk titled “In conversation with Mario Cucinella: a vision of Italian design around the world”, shared his vision emphasizing that the distinctiveness of Italian design on a global scale arises from how Italian artisans, craftsmen, designers, and companies interpret the essence of design.

Taking famous Italian brands and companies as an example, Arch. Cucinella described how the uniqueness of Made in Italy was propelled and gained its worldwide recognition.

The event started with remarks from CICC Secretary General, Renzo Isler and Marco Midolo, the First Counselor and Head of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Italy to the P.R.C., and was attended by Federico R. Antonelli, the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing.

Over 30 companies and representatives from the design sector, related fields, and enthusiasts of the industry participated for the occasion.

A special thanks is extended to Marquis (Tianjin) Trading Co., Ltd for sponsoring the event with its Italian wines.
