Italian Grand Gala – Panda d’Oro Award 2017 Edition Post Event

The 8th edition of the Italian Grand Gala, organized by China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), was held on the 17th of June 2017.

The Panda d’Oro Awards were received by the winning companies during the dinner attended by more than 520 people. The Awards recognized the outstanding performance of companies and entrepreneurs, which have contributed the most to developing and strengthening bilateral economic relations between China and Italy.

The event was supported by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Embassy of Italy in China, in association with Italy-China Foundation. CCIC President Davide Cucino stated that: “The Panda D’Oro Awards event celebrates the ability, creativity, efficiency, and innovation of the Italian companies that operate in China, independently from their dimensions or time of establishment. Italian companies are well performing in the market, which is showed by the great results they achieved and by the high number of companies which applied to win one of the awards.”

This year the Panda d’Oro-Cina Award was assigned to Fincantieri for its Joint Venture with China State Shipbuilding Corporation and the China Investment Corporation. The other awards were assigned to:

• The “Green Panda” Award: Boeri Architectural design consultancy
• The “One Belt One Road” Award: Salvino del Bene
• The “Gourmet Panda” Award: Ex Aequo Ferrero & Fabbri China
• The “Digital Panda” Award: Alfa Romeo China
• The “Best Italian SME” Award: Institute Marangoni
• The “Smart Panda”: Ex Aequo Pelliconi Suzhou & In3act

The “Friendship” Award, dedicated to the Chinese companies “friends” of the Chamber was assigned by the jury to Hai ‘an Technology and Ecologic Park and to the Italian Hub, Itaway. Giulia Ziggotti, Secretary General of CICC affirmed that: “A successuful Sino-Italian cooperation was undeniable in the course of the event and this was shown through the entertainment, the Chinese runaway show of the Marangoni Institute, the flash mob organized by the Chinese dancing company YS, the double direction in Chinese and Italian lead by the excellent Mattia Romeo, and the delivery of the awards from Italian and Chinese institutional and VIP guests”.
