Event recap | CICC-Tongji Career Day, 14 Nov

Dear Members and Friends,
The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is pleased to inform you that the “CICC-Tongji Career Day” was held on Tuesday 14 November 2023 at Tongji University in Shanghai. 

 

This event featured:

  • 37 hiring companies.
  • Over 120 job offers.
  • More than 230 students and Job seekers.
  • A keynote speech by Henry He, Business Director of Wyser China Gi Group Holding on how to prepare to enter the labor market and 2 workshops.
  • 3 company introductions with a focus on the most in-demand jobs with Bracco Medical Technologies, Pirelli, and Calzedonia Group.
  • Participation of the CICC Young Professional Network.

 

The job fair was preceded by a career day seminar in the presence of Prof. Lei Xinghui, Vice President of Tongji University and Dean of the Sino-Italian Campus, and Prof. Qu Chen, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Tongji University. The Commercial Consul Alessandra Palumbo also paid a visit during the job fair.

 

 

 

The event opened with a welcome speech held by Mr. Lei Xinghui, Vice President of Tongji University and Dean of Sino-Italian College, and Mr. Emilio Cassanelli, Board Member from China-Italy Chamber of Commerce.

 

 

During the event, the CICC conferred Tongji University with the award: “Talent Base for Italian company members of CICC”.  Emilio Cassanelli delivered the award to Wang Wei, Deputy Director of the Career Development Center at Tongji University.

 

 

 

Following this first introduction, multiple seminars were held by experts in the job market to help students understand and prepare better for future interviews and career endeavours.

 

 

 

Henry He, Business Director of Wyser China-GI Group Holding, gave the first keynote speech on how to prepare to enter the labor market, giving insights on the topic.

 

 

 

Additionally, Pasquale Pometti, Vice Coordinator of the CICC Young Professionals Network & and Software Engineering Manager at Magelec Propulsion Ltd, gave an overview of the CICC Young Professional Network.

 

 

The seminars were followed by one-to-one meetings between companies and candidates, where job seekers had the opportunity to interact and connect directly with HR representatives of the companies they were interested in, with a chance to show their CVs and get direct feedback.

 

 

 

As an ending workshop, Henry He, Business Director of Wyser China-GI Group Holding, gave precious tips on how to write an effective CV and how to perform better during job interviews.

 

The event was moderated by Giada Piccinini, CICC Board Member and Head of Shanghai office at GWA - Greatway Advisory.

The “CICC-Tongji Career Day 2023” has not only been an important matchmaking platform for professionals, graduates, students, and companies but also contributed to further promote “Made in Italy” products, with cooking workshops, food tasting booths, and Vespa expositions held during the event.
