CICC Deepens Cooperation with Pudong Area

Dear Members and Friends of CICC,


The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is glad to inform you that, for the first time the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Commission of Commerce Shanghai Pudong New Area Commission of Commerce paid a courtesy visit to the CICC Shanghai office on March 16th.

The CICC Board Member Mr. Fabrizio Ferri and the CICC Vice-Chairman in Shanghai Mr. Valtero Canepa, together with the CICC staff, met the Deputy Director of Pudong Commission of Commerce; Mr Cao Lei and the Deputy Director of Investment Promotion Department of Pudong Commission of Commerce, Ms. Wu Zhijuan.



The purpose of the visit was to prospect and discuss together how to improve the business dialogue between Shanghai authorities and CICC and to better support Italian companies' business in Shanghai and particularly in Pudong.

Mr. Canepa thanked Mr. Ferri for facilitating the first dialogue with the Pudong district, and the Chinese authorities who paid the courtesy visit.

He emphasized the importance of strengthening the dialogue between the CCIC and the government and the desire to create valuable opportunities to further improve the already very positive Sino-Italian relations and to discuss about some issues of particular importance for bilateral economic relations between Italy and Shanghai, from Shanghai’s business environment to investment policies and so on.

Mr. Cao Lei showed a strong interest to cooperate with the CICC, especially in the year of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Pudong area.

Shanghai is a major destination for Italian investment and the CCIC is in fact actively working on the territory for the Italian business community, especially at the service of small and medium-sized enterprises.


The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce looks forward to deepening the cooperation with the Pudong authorities and explore further business opportunities for the Italian community.
