Per la prima volta l`affermato cantautore si affida alla penna per regalarci una storia particolare e ricca di sfumature, un lavoro che mescola verità autobiografica e guizzi di fantasia per raccontare l`epopea di un personaggio che gli assomiglia molto. "Disperatamente (e in ritardo cane)", edito da Mondadori, è un libro godibilissimo, scritto con il linguaggio e le atmosfere delle sue canzoni più famose, che hanno fatto di lui un artista di culto. Una storia in cui Sergio si rispecchia molto, quella di un uomo, artista affermato del passato poi fuggito dal mondo del palcoscenico per dedicarsi una parentesi "umana" che, arrivato ad un certo punto della sua vita, si trova all`improvviso, per via di un curioso incidente che gli capita, a dover affrontare tutti insieme una serie di gravosi problemi.Caputo si serve della memoria e soprattutto delle emozioni condite da una calibrata dose di fiction per proporre un romanzo di vita vera, attraversato comunque dalla profonda ironia che gli compete, con appendici drammatiche e sessuali: "Un po` come la vita, in generale. Non una sola impronta, ma differenti momenti…".Sergio Caputo inizia la sua carriera musicale verso la fine degli anni `70. Dopo una serie di esperienze discografiche minori, nel 1983 esce il suo primo album "UN SABATO ITALIANO". Questo album lo porta al successo ed è tuttora un classico.
