RECAP | EU SME Business Mission to China, Suzhou

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), in collaboration with the EU SME Centre, successfully hosted the “EU SME Business Mission to China: Green Industries” on September 24-25, 2024. This two-day event, held in Suzhou and Taicang, brought together, Italian companies, and local authorities, providing a valuable platform for exchanges and fostering partnerships within the green industries sector.

 

Day 1 – Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) Session

Morning Visit - Suzhou Industrial Park Exhibition Center & Radici Plastics (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.

The event began with a visit to the Suzhou Industrial Park Exhibition Center, where participants gained insights into the rapid development and dynamic business environment of SIP.

 

 

Following this, the delegation visited Radici Plastics (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. Mr. Filippo Pallaroni, Training Centre Coordinator of the EU SME Centre, and Mr. Davide Angelibusi, Board Director of the CICC, delivered opening remarks, setting the stage for a day of fruitful dialogue. This included a roundtable exchange where European SMEs met with Italian companies based in Suzhou to discuss business strategies, market access, potential collaborations, and successful experiences.

- Afternoon Visit - Hutchinson Industrial Rubber Products Suzhou Co., Ltd. & ESG Industry Innovation Center

 

In the afternoon, the delegation visited Hutchinson Industrial Rubber Products (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. The visit featured an interactive exchange meeting introducing the SIP E-Supply Platform, aimed at deepening understanding of the local market and exploring business growth opportunities. Delegates from European SMEs and SIP companies exchanged company information and engaged in meaningful dialogue, sharing experiences and ideas.

 

Following this, the delegation visited the ESG Industry Innovation Center, concluding the day's itinerary.

 

 

Day 2 – Taicang High-Tech Zone Session

Morning Visit - Loujiang New City Planning Exhibition Hall & German Centre Taicang

 

The second day began at the Loujiang New City Planning Exhibition Hall in Taicang, highlighting the city’s future development as a hub for innovation and investment.

The delegation also toured the German Centre Taicang, showcasing regional collaboration with European enterprises. Ms. Shan Xuewei, Investment Manager of Taicang High-Tech Zone, presented investment opportunities in Loujiang New City, emphasizing the importance of international business cooperation. The day concluded with a Q&A session, allowing for direct engagement with local officials.
