The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce organized a visit led by Chairman Lorenzo Riccardi, to the member company Generali China Insurance (GCI) in Beijing on March 12th 2025. The purpose of the visit was to present the history of the Italian champion in the insurance industry, discuss GCI plans in China and Chamber’s support.
Generali, founded in 1831, is one of the world's leading insurance and asset management groups. With operations in over 50 countries and regions, Generali has more than 82,000 employees and serves over 70 million customers. In 2024, its total underwriting premiums reached 82.5 billion euros, ranking 137th on the Fortune Global 500 list. Generali provides a solid backing for GCI with its outstanding global service capabilities, innovative spirit, and robust financial strength.
In 2024, GCI became the sole wholly owned insurance company of Generali in China. Since its inception, GCI has leveraged Generali's global resources and expertise to focus on developing and providing a diverse range of insurance products and services.
The CICC remains committed to promoting the Italian champions and stays close to Members. During the meeting initiatives such as tailor-made insurance packages for CICC members and innovative projects in the green sector.
