Dear Members and Friends,

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is glad to inform you that the Sichuan-Italy Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Webinar, co-organized by the China Construction Bank and the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Economic Cooperation, and supported by the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqingthe China-Italy Chamber of Commerce and the Italian Foreign Trade Commission, took place both online and offline in Chengdu, on April 15th, 2021. The Consul General of Italy in Chongqing, Mr Guido Bilancini, the Chairman of CICC, Mr Paolo Bazzoni, and the Chief Representative of the Beijing Office of the Italian Foreign Trade Commission and General Coordinator of China and Mongolia, Mr. Gianpaolo Bruno, attended the meeting online and gave speeches.

The Webinar started with the greetings of Mr Chen Guanghao, Director of the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Economic Cooperation, who gave a warm welcome to all those present at the meeting, and expressed a sincere gratitude to all participating organizations for their long-term contributions to promoting economic cooperation between Sichuan and Italy. Then, the Deputy Director of Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Economic Cooperation Ms Zhou Mi gave a detailed introduction to all enterprises, speaking about the situation in Sichuan and the development of intelligent manufacturing in this area, aiming to promote the next step of the two parties' practical cooperation. According to Ms Zhou, in recent years, Sichuan has coordinated the promotion of digitalization, networking, and intelligent transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry, which has provided many valuable business opportunities and a good investment environment for foreign investors to participate in industrial development.

During the Webinar, Mr Paolo Bazzoni, CICC Chairman, made a speech online: Currently, CICC has built up a business network composed of 600 members with 12 working groups. It organizes over 200 activities every year and now has 5 offices (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Suzhou and Chongqing) and 3 desks (Chengdu, Shenzhen and Tianjin), which established a complete service network throughout China. Mr Paolo Bazzoni showed his confidence in the development of the Sichuan Province. He hopes that the CICC can help Italian companies gain a deeper understanding of Sichuan so that they can come to this province to establish smart manufacturing R&D centers and furthermore build smart manufacturing demonstration factories.

After the Webinar, the Sichuan's companies and those from Italy attended one-to-one online negotiations. This way of communication not only provides great convenience for everyone to carry out economic and trade cooperation, but also contributes to the promotion of China-Italy economic interaction and even the recovery of the global economy under a situation in which international economic cooperation is severely affected by the pandemic.

Kind Regards,

CICC Team
