Dear Members and Friends of CICC,
The seminar "FDI in China" - co-organized by Dentons China Law LLP and by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) - was successfully held on May 7th, 2019, at the 29th Floor, Building 1, Harmony Constellation Plaza No.269 Wang Dun Road, SIP, Suzhou.
Ms. Emanuela Vizzarro, CICC’s Office Manager opened the event by introducing the CICC and welcomed Mr. Giammarino Claudio, Co-head in Milan, responsible for the China Desk in Italy and Member of the global Corporate and M&A practice, to give an overview of the Agenda.
Dentons’s Head of Corporate Practice Group, Mr. Feng Yu, focused his intervention on the "New Changes in the Foreign Investment Law of PRC". Dentons' team has a long track record advising clients investing in China and assisting them at every stage of the process.
The following speaker, Mr Ruiming Zhu, Partner Lawyer and Vice Director of Foreign Affairs Department of Dentons Suzhou Office, presented some "Key Considerations on Labor Issues in China". During his intervention, he elaborated on the need for Foreign Companies entering the Chinese market to rely on a local partner to navigate idiosyncrasies and complexities of the legal system. Lawyers and other professionals working at Dentons ensure a thorough understanding of China’s various environments and cultures and provide timely and effective solutions to the most pressing employment challenges.
At this point, Mr. Claudio Giammarino took the floor to make a reference to "Sino-Italy Investment". Over the past decade, Dentons’ team in China has helped more than 100 Chinese enterprises to respond to cases involving international trade remedies.
The event was concluded by Ms. Shaokai Chen, Head of Cross-border Investment and Trade Practice Group and Senior Partner of Dentons Suzhou Office, who made some general remarks on "Doing Business in China for Foreign Companies".
