Factory Tour at GAC AION, 3rd July, Guangzhou

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) was pleased to host the Factory Tour at GAC AION on July 3rd, 2025, in Guangzhou. This event was organized in collaboration with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC Group), offering members and non-members with a strong interest in industrial innovation a unique opportunity to explore one of China’s leading new energy vehicle production sites.

The tour began with the arrival of participants at the GAC AION factory. Under the professional guidance of GAC staff, attendees explored AION’s latest range of intelligent electric vehicles and gained insights into cutting-edge technologies such as hydrogen fuel cell systems, and the company’s latest advancements in vehicle safety architecture.

A highlight of the visit was the walk-through of AION’s highly automated final assembly line, where participants witnessed the efficiency and precision of GAC’s smart manufacturing process in action.

Following the factory visit, participants gathered at the GAC conference room for a mutual introduction session.

Representatives from both CICC and GAC Group shared overviews of their respective activities. GAC highlighted its growing commitment to international markets, particularly its strategic development plans in Europe and its vision for the Italian market. The Chamber expressed sincere appreciation for GAC’s hospitality and presentation, emphasizing the potential for future collaboration.

The session concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, where participants raised thoughtful questions and engaged in active dialogue, creating a dynamic and productive atmosphere.

The group then proceeded to the GAC Technology Museum. Accompanied by museum staff, participants had the opportunity to explore a wide array of concept vehicles and learn more about the latest breakthroughs in new energy vehicle (NEV) technology. From intelligent cockpit design to battery-swapping systems and connected mobility solutions, the tour offered a comprehensive look into GAC’s forward-thinking innovation and R&D capabilities. The interactive exhibits left a strong impression on all attendees.
