Members' General Assembly & Caravaggio Exhibition, 28.02 Beijing

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing (IIC), is pleased to invite you to the CICC Members’ General Assembly and “Caravaggio’s World of Art” exhibition guided tour, taking place on Friday, February 28th, 2025.

• 12:00 Registration at Italian Cultural Institute
• 12:20 Departure from the Italian Cultural Institute, heading to the National Museum of China
• 13:00-14:00 Guided Tour of the exhibition “Caravaggio’s World of Art”
• 14:00 Departure from the museum, heading back to the Italian Cultural Institute

Assembly:

• 14:30 General Assembly - Registration at the Italian Cultural Institute
• 14:55-16:30 CICC Ordinary General Assembly

Masterclass:

• 19:00 Masterclass: Cucina con Chef Alessandro.

The day will be held as follows:

1. Guided Tour of the Exhibition “Caravaggio’s World of Art”: at the National Museum of China, the tour will be led by Professor Galleni, Cultural Attaché at the Italian Cultural Institute and art expert. 

• 12:00 Registration;
• 12:20 Departure from the Italian Cultural Institute with private bus*.
• 13:00 Tour starts.

*All participants are required to gather in front of the Institute to use the organized transportation service.

About the exhibition

"Caravaggio's World of Art" celebrates Italy's remarkable tradition in art restoration and the application of advanced technologies to cultural heritage. The focus is on Maddalena in estasi (c. 1610) by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, a masterpiece of extraordinary emotional depth. Restored by Cinzia Pasquali and enhanced through the most advanced Italian technologies, the work stands as both an artistic triumph and a symbol of Italy's innovation and expertise in the preservation of cultural heritage.

2. CICC Members’ Ordinary General Assembly: following the exhibition, the Ordinary General Assembly for the voting on the 2024 budget and the presentation of the 2025 activity plan will take place both offline at the Auditorium of the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing and online via Zoom.

3. Masterclass - Cucina con Chef Alessandro organized by the Italian Cultural Insitute in Beijing: for all Italian cuisine enthusiasts, don’t miss this exclusive masterclass with Chef Alessandro, starting at 19:00 at the Italian Cultural Institute premises. He will demonstrate the preparation of a full menu, bringing authentic italian flavors and carnival traditions to life.

• Language: all the events will be held in Italian language.
• Transport: a private bus will be arranged to transport participants from the Italian Cultural Institute to the National Museum of China and back to the Institute after the visit.

Important Note:
For logistical reasons, direct access to the Museum will not be possible. All participants are required to gather in front of the Institute to use the organized transportation service.
