Established in 1997 in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, Luxottica Tristar (Dongguan) Optical Co., Ltd is Luxottica Group’s exclusive production center for eyewear products in China. In 2002, it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Luxottica Group and was the Group’s first overseas factory.
After more than 10 years on the market, the Company has become one of Luxottica Group’s most important centres for design, production, logistics and distribution of metal-framed eyeglasses, plastic-framed eyeglasses and eyeglasses accessories. Thanks to its internal design and manufacturing capabilities, the company boasts a strong competitive advantage that allows it to save time, as well as to quickly adapts its processes, all at reduced costs and with shorter and more efficient production cycles.
Employing approximately 11,000 employees, Tristar manufactures over 25 million pairs of finished eyeglasses and about 40 million pairs of components each year, including lenses and decorative elements.
