The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), together with our Intellectual Property Working Group (IPWG), is glad to invite you to our online eventInterview with IP Experts: Regulatory Updates on PIPL” on September 29th at 4:00 pm.

45 minutes conversation with three IP experts who will give an insight on three key issues regarding new implementation regulations of the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL). Our experts will address questions on new developments, best practices of the new rules, and potential conflicts between PIPL and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

This event is part of a new “Interviews with IP Experts series aimed at providing updates on hot topics related to Intellectual Property Protection in China.

Joe Liu, Partner at Watson & Band Law Offices
Joe Liu is specialized in the fields of intellectual property rights and data security and has been providing legal services for many renowned clients in fashion and luxury, food and beverage, culture and entertainment and Internet industries since the start of legal practice in 2007. Mr Liu was awarded as Litigation Star by Benchmark and China’s Young Elite Lawyer by Law Journal. He was also honoured with a top trademark professional of “WTR (World Trademark Review) 1000 2022”. A trademark infringement case represented by Mr Liu was selected as one of the Top 10 IP Cases of 2018 by the Supreme People’s Court.

Charles (Chao) Feng, Senior Partner, Attorney-at-Law at Tahota
Mr Feng is a reputable IP and cyber law expert with substantial experience on intellectual property law, cyber law and anti-trust law with reputable international and domestic law firms, focusing on IP litigation, enforcement trademark and patent portfolio management, as well as cyber law and data protection related legal matters. Mr Feng has represented numerous foreign clients from US, EU and Japan at various levels of courts as well as enforcement agencies in China.

Bruce Chen, Director of Legal Department, Lawyer at PKF Consulting Inc.
Bruce Chen is mainly in charge of rendering legal services to foreign enterprises. Bruce has affluent experiences serving corporate clients in the area of PRC privacy law/data protection law, employment law, corporate law and serves as the legal advisor to many foreign-based corporate clients in China. Bruce is the part-time adjunct professor at Business School of Concordia University Wisconsin, USA.
