The Innovation and Technology Working Group (I&TWG) of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce is glad to invite you to the webinar: "Startup, Research and Innovation Ecosystem in China and Italy: Challenges and Opportunities", which will be held ONLINE on November 4th, 2021, from 5 pm to 6:30 pm (China Standard Time).

Introduction:

Innovation ecosystems vary enormously from one country to another. China, after making innovation a strategic priority for its economic development, continues to open up its market and to reinforce its technological innovation capabilities through increasing investment in talents and technologies.

In Italy, COVID-19 affected its social and economic system that already suffered long-term structural problems. However, the country can count on being the world’s 7th largest manufacturing economy, with a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem mainly made by dynamic SMEs. The post-pandemic era is also offering Italy an opportunity to structurally reorient public and private investments to further drive innovation and economic growth.

During this event, we will explore some of the challenges and opportunities that China and Italy are facing in fostering research, startup creation and growth, as well as innovation.

• Chaty Zheng:  Head of International Cooperation Division at Shanghai Technology Innovation Center (STIC).
