The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce in Guangzhou is pleased to invite you to the presentation of the `European Chamber Business Confidence Survey 2012` to be held in Guangzhou (June 5), Shenzhen (June 6) and Zhuhai (June 7), organised by the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and the Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. • How many European companies are planning to expand their investments in China? • How many of them are considering moving their operations to nearby regions instead? • Are European companies succeeding in this increasingly competitive environment? • Is China still perceived as a strategic market or is losing momentum due to the financial crisis? These are some of the questions the European Chamber of Commerce in China has asked to its member companies. The survey was conducted in February 2012 and has taken place annually since 2004, allowing it to highlight patterns and examine the impact of the Chinese government policy and global economic trends. The results will provide the most up-to-date and in-depth analysis on sentiment among European businesses about the Chinese business environment, with a special mention to the PRD area. For further information on Tom Carver please find the biography provided by the speaker here below: Tom Carver is an UK qualified solicitor who specialises in intellectual property and has substantial experience in patent litigation. He has represented companies from the pharmaceutical industries and life science sector and gained particular experience in handling multi-jurisdictional litigation. Tom deals with all aspects of intellectual property rights on a daily basis and has a specific interest in China-related matters. He has advised on multiple patent infringement actions and attended trade fairs on behalf of clients. Tom focuses on understanding the client`s objective and explaining the law in practical terms, providing his clients with concrete and business-focused solutions. He is a regular speaker on the topic of IPR in China and has published several articles on this subject. Tom Carver is the head of Wragge & Co.’s China office and is based in Guangzhou. He advises both UK and internationally based clients on the enforcement of intellectual property rights in China, as well as on other China-related issues including commercial law. Tom also advises Chinese companies on UK law, and acts as the link between the firm`s Guangzhou office and its other offices.
