On Aug. 20, 2021, China has promulgated the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), which will take effect Nov. 1, 2021.
Serving as China’s first comprehensive law in the personal information protection area, together with the Cybersecurity Law, and the Data Security Law, it will form an over-arching framework to govern data protection, data security and cybersecurity in China for years to come. The CICC and the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing will co-organize to build the Italian National Pavilion, which is expected to open seven booths.
