The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), and its Intellectual Property Working Group (IPWG), is pleased to invite you to the online seminar “Cimbali Group Slayer Espresso Case and Anti-Unfair Competition Law” that will be held on March 6th, 2025, from 16:00 (Beijing time) via Zoom.
The event will delve into the Cimbali Group “Slayer” Espresso Case providing a comprehensive analysis of the recent legal victory of the Cimbali Group Slayer espresso machine in China. The seminar will also present other recent cases under the Anti-Unfair Competition Law as well as analyze the proposed amendments in the legislation and their potential impact on foreign and domestic businesses operating in China.
About Cimbali Group Slayer Espresso Case
The Cimbali Group Slayer case is a significant milestone in the protection of intellectual property rights. The Baoshan District Court's decision to recognize the Slayer espresso machine's design as "influential" and to order the cessation of production and commercialization of infringing machines has set a precedent in China's legal landscape. This case study will explore the strategic and operational implications of this ruling for businesses, emphasizing the importance of IP protection strategies in a competitive market.
