Sustainability at the Center of Our Industrial Design Forum

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), in cooperation with the Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou, and in partnership with the Shenzhen Industrial Design Professional Association (SIDA), held the webinar "Industrial Design Forum: Sustainability in Industrial Design, Trends and Opportunities” on October 20th 2022.

 

 

Firstly, following the welcome remarks by the Chairman of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, Paolo Bazzoni, the Consul General of Italy in Guangzhou, Valerio De Parolis, and SIDA President, Shirley Feng, the webinar gave the audience a macro-understanding of policies and incentives dedicated to companies that wish to invest in this sector with key economic data outlined by Nina Niu, Deputy Secretary General of the Shenzhen Industrial Design Profession Association (SIDA).

Then, Enza Migliore, Assistant Professor at School of Design, SUSTech, told the audience how sustainability can apply to the Industrial Design sector from a scientific point of view.

Finally, two business cases were presented by Anton Garland, Designer and Head of Product and New Mobility at Icona Design Group, and Patrizio Cionfoli, Design Director at Studio Volpi.

The webinar was part of the Festival of Sustainable Development 2022, the largest Italian initiative to raise awareness and mobilize citizens, young generations, companies, associations and institutions on the issues of economic, social and environmental sustainability, spread the culture of sustainability and foster a cultural and political change that allows Italy to implement the United Nations 2030 Agenda and achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
