双语 Tianjin-Italy Business Dialogue on Green Transition

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) together with its Energy and Environmental Protection Working Group (EEPWG), the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone (TJFTZ) Administrative CommitteeTianjin Energy Conservation Association and Tianjin New Energy Association organized the Tianjin-Italy Business Dialogue on Green Transition, on May 29th at the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone.

 

The initiative, held over the entire day, brought together key local companies in the production of green steel, industrial players, and new energy companies with CICC Member companies in the field to discuss collaboration opportunities in the path toward Green Transition.

 

 

The business dialogue was hosted by Renzo Isler, Secretary General at the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce and saw the opening remarks of David Zheng, Director of Tianjin Italian SME Industrial Park and Lorenzo Riccardi, Chairman at China-Italy Chamber of Commerce.

 

China and Italy are exploring ways to accelerate the green transformation of their economies and societies. Thanks to their strong expertise, there is great potential for cooperation that will inject new momentum into the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.”

The second session involved representatives from the local bureaus to present the work of the municipality toward green transition: Wang Liang, Deputy Director of the Division of Environment, Resources & Dual-Carbon, Tianjin Development and Reform Commission, and Wang Fang, Division of Energy Conservation & Comprehensive Usage, Tianjin Industrial and Information Technology Bureau. David Zheng, Director of Tianjin Italian SME Industrial Park, presented TJFTZ plan and action of green transition, energy conservation and decarbonization and opportunities with Italian companies.

 

Teti Maria Licursi, Coordinator of EEPWG and Office Activities & New Initiatives Analyst, Eni Representative Office Beijing, presented the Italian stance on Green Transition and the Italian technological expertise, presenting also Eni’s position and expertise in the challenging path toward Green Transition.

 

 

The panels that followed presented, for the first panel, a dialogue on energy conservation and decarbonization of traditional industries between Sun Xiangchao, Head of Energy and Environment Protection Department, Tianjin Rockcheck Steel Group and Guido Molteni, General Manager, Tenova China, who shared respectively the challenges and strategies implemented by Chinese companies in the decarbonization process and Italian expertise and approach to sustainability.

 

The panel was moderated by Luigi Fiato, Coordinator of EEPWG.

 

 

The second panel, moderated by Henry Shi, Investment Promotion Manager, Tianjin Italian SME Industrial Park, TJFTZ Administrative Committee, discussed the status of hydrogen applications  in pipelines in China and the Italian expertise in terms of hydrogen production, transportation and storage as well as the technologies employed for testing asset integrity with Zhang Shinan, General Manager, Tianjin Gas Heat Planning Design and Research Institute, Shouxiang Sun, VP of Business Development, Snam China and Luigi Fiato, Industry Director, Rina.

 

 

The meeting was also the occasion to visit our Tianjin Office and meet with the local partners. During the late morning, CICC Chairman, Lorenzo Riccardi with our delegates met with the representatives of the Tianjin Free Trade Zone, led by Mr. Zhao Xuesen, Vice President.

 

 

The visit continued with a company tour to the Tianjin Steel Group, one of the biggest and oldest local steel manufacturers, where participants had the chance to visit the main facilities and meet with the local management.

 

The event was organized by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce Energy and Environment Protection Working Group (EEPWG). Working Group participation is open to all CICC members.
