The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is glad to inform you that, on March 12th, 2021, China's Arbor Day, more than 20 representatives of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) Suzhou Chapter (SCH) joined the Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, Mr. Michele Cecchi and the delegation to Wujiang District for a series of China’s Arbor Day events including China-Italy Tree Presentation Ceremony, China-Italy Business Seminar, and plant tours to Italian companies: Valvitalia (Suzhou) Valves Co., Ltd., Sogefi (Suzhou) Auto Parts Co., Ltd, and Prima Power (Suzhou)Co., Ltd.
Representatives of other organisations in East China also joined the events: Prof. Roberto Pagani, Science and Technology Counsellor of the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, Massimiliano Tremiterra, the Chief Representative of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in Shanghai, Valtero Canepa, CICC Vice Chairman Shanghai, Jay Chen, Relationship Manager Mainland China of sace-simest, Riccardo Campanile, CICC Board Member Suzhou, and Flavio Zaghini, CICC SCH Coordinator.
China-Italy Tree Presentation Ceremony and the Olive Tree Planting Ceremony were held in the morning on China’s Arbor Day as a symbol of collaboration on dealing with environmental challenges, which is one of the challenges for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region that Wujiang is an important part of. Representing the local authorities, the ceremony was attended by Wang Guorong, District Mayor, and Chen Jianzhong, Vice Mayor of Wujiang Municipal People’s Government.
The China-Italy Business Seminar was organised by the local government in collaboration with the CICC focusing on investment opportunities and industrial cooperation in the region.
Currently, there are 29 Italian companies operating in Wujiang.
Representatives of the Bureau of Commerce, Bureau of Industrial and Technology, Bureau of Industry and Information Technology of Wujiang District, Foreign Affairs Office of Wujiang Municipal People’s Government also attended the seminar.
After the seminar, representatives took plant tours to three Italian companies in Wujiang: Valvitalia (Suzhou) Valves Co., Ltd., Sogefi (Suzhou) Auto Parts Co., Ltd, and Prima Power (Suzhou)Co., Ltd.
