The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is proud to announce the successful conclusion of the Ursa Major Delegation’s business visit to China, held from November 17 to 30, 2024. Ursa Major is an Italian organization that gathers companies operating in the food distribution sector, playing a key role in promoting excellence in this field in Italy. The 13-day journey through Shanghai and Beijing was planned and executed by the CICC, which curated every detail to blend cultural exploration with business opportunities. The initiative highlights the Chamber’s dedication to fostering collaboration between Italian enterprises and the dynamic Chinese market, reaffirming its role as a vital facilitator of cross-border partnerships.
The CICC organized visits to over 10 leading companies among Shanghai and Beijing, including global and Chinese champions like Alibaba, Starbucks, innovative local enterprises, Yuanqi Forest, and Italian champion companies in China, gaining valuable insights into China’s business landscape and Italian business presence.
The delegates were warmly received by H.E. Massimo Ambrosetti, Ambassador of Italy to the P.R.C., who encouraged further exploration of the Chinese market. CICC Board Members, Working Groups Coordinators and the CICC team welcomed the delegation at various events accompanying them in both cities, strengthening ties within the Italian community and sharing valuable insights.
During their visit to the 2nd edition of the China Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) in Beijing, the delegation explored cutting-edge advancements in manufacturing and smart technologies. Beyond business, the trip included cultural highlights such as visits to Yu Garden in Shanghai, Hangzhou’s West Lake, and ancient towns, offering a deeper appreciation of China’s rich heritage. The journey concluded with a tranquil Taichi lesson at the Temple of Heaven in Beijing.
This business trip provided the delegates with practical knowledge for navigating China’s complex market, resulting in tangible outcomes such as new partnership opportunities and a deeper understanding of the country’s economic environment. The Ursa Major Delegation’s visit underscored the significant latent potential for further developing the business ties between Italian enterprises and the large China market. Thanks to the CICC’s organization, delegates departed with both actionable insights and a lasting appreciation for China’s dynamism and potential.
