The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is delighted to inform you that on April 23rd, the initiative Factory Tour to SERES Super Factory was successfully held in Chongqing. As a significant segment of the southwest region's event series, this activity was jointly organized by CICC, Chongqing SERES Group Co., Ltd, with the support from the the Mechanical Engineering Working Group (MEWG) of CICC and Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing.
At the beginning of the event, led by Mr. Zhang Xingyan, the Vice President of the Overseas Business Unit of SERES Group, the participants visited the SERES Super Factory together. The SERES Super Factory has been in operation in Chongqing since February 2024 and covers an area of over 1 million square meters. As a globally benchmark - level smart factory within the "Automotive Industry Brain" ecosystem, it comprehensively builds a core independent digital foundation. By applying intelligent technologies, it realizes the interconnection of equipment and data in the production process. There are over 3,000 robots in the factory. Key processes are 100% automated, and 100% of quality monitoring can be traced. It takes the lead in applying 10,000 - ton - class super - intelligent die - casting units and creates the industry's first intelligent unmanned logistics port for transportation. Its production efficiency ranks among the top in the industry, enabling "flexible, transparent, automated, interconnected, and intelligent" vehicle manufacturing.
During the session of Business Round Table, Mr. Paolo Bazzoni, the Vice President of CICC in Chongqing, thanked Seres Group Mr. Zhang for this important occasion to develop new business opportunities for our company members and friends located in Chongqing and East of China, also welcomed all the partecipants with the special appreciation for Consul General Fabio Schina. He noted the Chongqing's potential for automotive supply chain's development and SERES Group's success in exploring the technological frontier and jointly appreciating green mobility, focused on global market in particular, Italy and Europe. CICC aims to create more cooperation opportunities for Italian and Chinese enterprises in this filed, driving business growth and new investments in the region and in Italy.
Mr. Fabio Schina, Consul General of Italy in Chongqing congratulated on the event and thanked CICC for its work in Southwest China. He said closer China-Italy economic and trade ties make such events important for bilateral cooperation and the automotive industry is a key cooperation area. Chongqing's booming automotive industry and good business environment make it a great place for deeper Sino-Italian cooperation in automotive and related high-tech. We hope Italian enterprises will cooperate more with chinese companies like SERES.
Then, Mr. Zhang Xingyan, Vice President of the Overseas Business Unit, welcomed all participants to the factory tour. He thanked CICC for organizing this concret event and briefly introduced SERES's growth from its start - up phase to its current status as a new energy vehicle industry leader. He emphasized that SERES' achievements in Chongqing owed much to local government support, a robust industrial ecosystem, and the company's consistent innovation. Mr. Zhang also expressed SERES' eagerness to collaborate with Italian automotive enterprises and look forward to mutually beneficial partnerships in the industry.
