RECAP | Energy Roundtable and Company Visit at Bitron

On October 22, 2024, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) and the Energy and Environment Protection Working Group (EEPWG) together with CCPIT Qingdao and the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Commerce, hosted a Roundtable and Company Visit Driving the Energy Transition: efficiency, production and technologies at Bitron Electronic China in Qingdao. This event focused on fostering dialogue around energy transition, innovation, and sustainable solutions.

The activity saw the participation of 50 representatives from Italian and Chinese energy companies actively involved in energy transition projects. It aimed to highlight Italian expertise and create opportunities for collaboration in sustainable energy initiatives.

 

 

 

The roundtable, moderated by Luigi Fiato, Vice Coordinator of the CICC Energy and Environment Protection Working Group, saw the opening remarks of Giamberto Giraldo, Qingdao Promoter of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, who opened the event by discussing the Chamber’s mission and the role of EEPWG,  Li Feng, Vice Director General of the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Commerce, who detailed Qingdao’s long-standing cooperation with Italian businesses and highlighted the growth of Italian companies in the city. Tang Xuyan, Vice Chairwoman of CCPIT Qingdao, elaborated on Qingdao's contributions to sustainable energy development and emphasized the growing China-Italy relations, particularly in the energy transition. Finally, Davide Praino, General Manager of Bitron Electronic China, emphasized Bitron's dedication to supporting energy transformation and fostering international cooperation for a greener future.

 

 

 

The event continued with contributions from several industry leaders. Davide Praino provided insights into the company’s significant commitment to energy transition through innovative products and systems, Antonio Lobosco, CEO of Ampere Transition, provided a comprehensive overview of the Energy Transition status in Europe and Italy and the role of the Bitron co-funded startup in supporting organizations toward decarbonization. Gianluca Coletti, CTO of FuturaSun, addressed the challenges of technological innovation in photovoltaics whereas Zijiang Yang, Director of Product and Solutions at Haier COSMOPlat Smart Energy, spoke about Haier Group’s initiatives in developing low-carbon industrial parks for sustainable growth.

 

Following, a roundtable discussion took place featuring Davide Praino, Antonio Lobosco, Gianluca Coletti, and Fan Weixiang, Project Manager at Qingdao Huashijie Environment Technology. They engaged in a fruitful conversation about the key challenges in energy transition, including the future of renewable energy, green hydrogen, energy storage, sustainable mobility, and digitalization.

 

 

The event culminated with a tour of Bitron Electronic’s manufacturing plant, where participants observed the company's manufacturing operations of electronic components for the Automotive, Appliance, and HVAC.

The evening concluded with a networking dinner at Gourmet Taste Italian Restaurant in Qingdao City Centre, giving attendees the chance to exchange insights and forge connections while enjoying fine Italian cuisine.
