RECAP | Chongqing Trade Matchmaking Conference, Nov 6th

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is pleased to inform you that the China (Chongqing) - Italy Economic and Trade Matchmaking Conference was successfully held in the Sala Sagittarius of the Centro Congressi STELLA POLARE at the Fiera Milano on November 6th. The event was organized by the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, undertaken by Chongqing Suotong Exhibition Co., Ltd., and received strong support from the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce and the Confindustria ANCMA (Associazione Nazionale Ciclo Motociclo Accessori).

 

 

2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Italy and it is an important year for the development of Sino-Italian relations. This event held in Milan attracted both enterprise representatives and industry experts from China and Italy, aiming to further promote exchanges and cooperation in the economic, trade, and industrial fields between the two sides and drive the continuous development of bilateral relations.

 

 

Among the distinguished guests there were: Mr. Peng Heliang, Deputy Director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce; Mr. Yu Jianfei, Director of the Chongqing Jiulongpo District Commission of Commerce; Mr. Paolo Bazzoni, Vice President of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Filippo Petz, representative of the Italian Trade Commission; Mr. Federico Vitale, Director of International Relations of the Confindustria ANCMA; Mr. Luca Biagini, Automotive Head of Iter Advisory Network and Mr. Yang Jian, Deputy General Manager of Chongqing Shineray Motorcycle Co., Ltd.

 

 

Mr. Paolo Bazzoni, Vice President of the China Italy Chamber of Commerce, invited by the Chongqing Government to the event, delivered a speech as the keynote speaker: “In 2023, the total trade volume between Italy and China was 667.6 million euros, with exports to China increasing by 16.7% and the trade deficit decreasing. Italian enterprises are present in various sectors in China, especially in Chongqing. In the automotive industry, 20 local automotive enterprises in Chongqing, like Changan and Geely, are using Italian excellences and creating high-value supply chain opportunities. Italian companies such as FPT and UFI FILTERS have significant investments in the automotive and component sectors in Chongqing, and opportunities are also emerging in design, lifestyle, education, renewable energy, and agro-food, we are committed to support SME Italian companies to penetrate Chongqing and Southwest market with a tight support and collaboration from local government, we are planning more activities like this one in the future in Italy, also supporting Chinese Chongqing companies to invest in Italy.”

 

This event saw the participation of leaders of Chinese foreign affairs agencies stationed in Milan, local chambers of commerce and enterprise representatives, media reporters, and others.
