On January 22nd, 2025, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) hosted the China Outlook 2025: Members' Meeting and Networking at the Capital Club in Beijing. With large participation of Member Companies and Friends of CICC from diverse industries, the event served as a platform to present the upcoming initiatives and strategies of the Chamber in 2025. It also provided an opportunity to analyze China's evolving economic landscape, characterized by a mix of challenges and opportunities. While concerns about the property market slowdown, manufacturing overcapacity, and subdued consumer spending persist, there are promising signs of growth in innovation-driven sectors, digital transformation, and green technologies—critical areas for businesses to watch in 2025.
The event was opened by the institutional remarks of H.E. Massimo Ambrosetti, Ambassador of Italy to P.R.C., Lorenzo Riccardi, CICC Chairman, Francesco Pensabene, Director and Coordinator of the ITA/ICE Agency in China and Mongolia, and Federico Antonelli, Director of Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing, and it was hosted by CICC Board Member North China, Francesco Innocenti.
China-Italy Chamber of Commerce’s Vice President for the North, Andrea Croci, and newly nominated Secretary General, Fabrizio Costa, presented the 2025 action plan and upcoming activities for North China, setting the stage for collaboration and growth.

Our keynote speaker, Alfredo Montufar-Helu, Head of the China Centre for Economics and Business, highlighted key economic, market, and policy dynamics shaping China in 2025. With growth projected at 4.5%, Multinational corporations (MNCs) were urged to adapt by focusing on digital transformation, sustainability, niche markets, and innovation.
