The initiative aimed at awarding Italian and Chinese companies, which contributed to reinforce the economical relations between Italy and China. During the ceremony - presented by CICC Secretary General Elena Tosana - 9 awards were assigned, in 7 categories. Following the first meeting, as above mentioned, UFI SOFIMA had other six meeting in which the firm committed to offer its very own know-how, experience in the field and own machinery to start-up the production in China. Later on, we had the opportunity to establish a joint-venture with the Ministry of Aviation (1994) and WOFEs (Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise) in Shanghai and Changchun. Today we are proud to affirm that China represents 75% of our work-force, with about 2200 workers/staff, and the highest investment flow of the Group. A reason of these efforts is that we believe that China will be the world first producer of vehicles".
