The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), in cooperation with Bencham - Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China, CCI France Chine and EU Sino Business Consulting is glad to inform that the Roundtable & Interchamber event on "Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Regulations and Impacts on Factories" was successfully held on October 16th in Suzhou.
The event was opened by Mr. Wang Shi, Deputy Director at EHS Center of Nanjing University with his presentation “Trend, Challenges and Opportunities, New Environmental Regulations in China”.
Mr. Wang gave very incisive information about the future of environmental regulations in China, focusing on key protection action plans to battle the pollution and how the local government policy tackle the environmental problems driven by the national policy standards. Water and Air Pollution, Hazardous Waste and other key regulations have been exposed, stressing the importance of enterprises responsibilities within the new environmental protection law.
Following his presentation, a panel discussion was held with Mr. Etienne Charlier, General Manager of UE Sino, as Moderator and the panelists involved were Wang Shi - Deputy Director at EHS Center of Nanjing University, Fabrizio Ferrari -General Manager at EDT Diecasting Technology in Suzhou, Micheal Colijn -General Manager Asia at Bekaert`s Heating Division, Tom Chen - BD & Sales Manager Asia at Beaulieu International Group and Aernout Beke - General Manager at AF Compressors.
Their interventions focused on best practices and their impacts on business and factories. The speakers shared insightful and practical experiences on how to source the right information and how to implement internal and external structural action plans. They highlighted that being socially and environmentally responsible is not incompatible with cost savings when smart choices are made. It was a great opportunity for the attendees to learn how to anticipate the new regulation impact and drive environmental changes within their organization accordingly.
The event followed up with a Q&A session, a great chance for the attendees to learn even more from the speakers and toask their thoughts on topics they are interested in. At the end there was also an exclusive Interchamber networking, during which panelist and all the attendees had the opportunity to discuss further their mutual concerns and challenges.
