“Looking over the Great Wall, an unmissable and challenging opportunity” took place on Thursday 16th June at the Intercontinental Hotel in Puxi. The event was organized by the Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai and the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce.
The event hosted around 80 guests, among which the most important Italian and Chinese Institutions and the representatives of the most successful Italian companies operating in China.
The meeting officially started at 4:15 pm with the welcome speeches delivered by Professor Giuliano Noci, (Vice-Rector of Politecnico di Milano), Stefano Beltrame (Consul General of Italy in Shanghai), and Professor Andrea Matta (Chairman of the Association Eastern China Academics - Associazione degli Accademici della Cina orientale).
Following, the keynote speech of Zhou Hanmin (Vice-Chairman of the Shanghai People’s Political Consultative Committee), which highlighted the main strengths of China in its exchange with Italian companies.
The core of the event was characterized by a round-table conference, which moderator was Ms. Rita Fatiguso (journalist of “Sole24Ore”). The main focuses of the discussion were the difficulties faced by the Italian companies in China, and their future opportunities. The following guests actively joined the conference: Mr. Angelo Giardini, (GM Ferrero China Ltd.), Mr. Luigi Lubrano (GM Magneti Marelli Powertrain China), Mr. Luigi Minervini (Ansaldo Energia), Mr. Marco Di Pierri (HR Director Pirelli APAC), Mr. Pietro Golini (Asia HR Vice-president Danieli); Mr. Valtero Canepa (GM Bracco Sine Ltd.), and Mr. Wei Jianhua (Presidente CCUI - China Corporate United Investment Holding Co. Ltd).
Towards the end of the event another small discussion was organized to talk about the role of Italian Universities in China. Mr. Eugenio Buzzetti (Agi China Journalist) was appointed moderator of the talk, together with the participation of Mr. Andrea Sianesi (Dean MIP Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Business) and Mr. Giuliano Noci, followed at last by an active session of Q&A.
To conclude the event, a buffet-style dinner which offered a networking opportunity to all the participants.
