Post Event - Guangzhou & Shenzhen - DOMESTIC and CROSS BORDER E-COMMERCE & E-PLATFORM IN CHINA; Challenges and Opportunities - September 12th & 13th

Dear CICC Members & Friends,

On September 12th and 13th, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce successfully held the seminar “DOMESTIC and CROSS BORDER E-COMMERCE & E-PLATFORM IN CHINA; Challenges and Opportunities " in Guangzhou at the International Fashion Art Centre of Kapok International Fashion City, and in Shenzhen at WeWork co-working space.

The seminars were opened by the CICC Guangzhou office manager Ms Romina Di Martino, who delivered a greeting speech to thank the two venues which kindly sponsored the locations, and to welcome the guests and the speakers. In addition, we had the pleasure to host the Consul General of Italy in Guangzhou Mrs. Lucia Pasqualini, who attended the seminar in Shenzhen.

The seminar shed light on the hit trend about the future of Cross-border Ecommerce of B2C and B2B in the Chinese market by illustrating different e-commerce methods from different customs borders. The topic was insightfully presented by four speakers:

- Mr. Diego Serafini, Managing Partner at DS INTERNATIONAL

- Mrs. Beixi Xu, CEO at Otto Group/Hermes Nex Tec LLC

- Mr. Fabio Stella, Senior Associate at P&P

- Mr. Sergio Scanu, Counsel at Chiomenti

The seminar session was started by Mr. Diego Serafini, who talked about “The luxury Chinese market and the possibilities for the Italian ways: the domestic and the cross border e-commerce”. He analyzed the e-commerce industry focusing on the characteristics of the Chinese market for luxury and peculiarities of the Italian luxury brands. Secondly, Mrs. Beixi Xu has compared the Chinese Ecommerce Model and the Western one, while Mr. Fabio Stella with his presentation “Cross-Border e-commerce re-thinking global trade and its fiscal treatment” gave e-commerce tax insights in China US and EU. Finally, Mr. Sergio Scanu illustrated the Cross-Border E-commerce and the recent development of the PRC E-commerce related law.

The location and catering were offered by Kapok International Fashion City in Guangzhou and WeWork co-working space in Shenzhen.
