POST EVENT | EEPWG Webinar “Understanding CBAM”

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) together with its Energy and Environment Protection Working Group (EEPWG) organized the webinar “Understanding the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)” on May 15th, 2024.

The seminar provided a comprehensive understanding of CBAM, its objectives, implementation phases, and impact for companies.

The webinar was hosted by Luigi Fiato, Vice-coordinator of the CICC Energy and Environment Working Group (EEPWG), that introduced the main topics to be discussed and moderated the event. Thereafter Teti Maria Licursi, Coordinator of the Energy and Environment Working Group (EEPWG), presented the EEPWG working group, with its companies’ composition, activities, and objectives.

 

 

The first speaker Ma Jinjing, Co-founder of NORDIQ Group, gave and overview of the carbon emissions in China, and in particular analyzed the China carbon market development policies, mechanism and trading forecast.

 

 

Subsequently Pietro Valaguzza, Freelance at Rina Consulting S.p.A, and Giorgio Bonvicini, Manager of the Carbon Reduction Operational at Rina Consulting S.p.A, presented the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism context and legislative pathway, the implications for businesses and authorities and gave a future outlook and review.

 

 

 

After our speaker’s presentations, we had a Q&A session where the guests had to opportunity to learn more about CBAM from our experts.
