On November 6, 2020, as a supporting activity of the third China International Import Expo, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China ICBC successfully held the China EU CEO Summit in the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai). The conference was strongly supported by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the State Administration of foreign exchange and the China International Import and Exhibition Bureau. Representatives from nearly 260 enterprises from China and Europe attended the conference.
The Summit was opened by the opening remarks of Chen Siqing, Chairman of the Board ICBC followed by a speech of Guan Xueqing, Secretary of the Board of Directors ICBC.
Manilo Di Stefano, the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Italy was one of the guest speakers.
Bartolomeo Lamonarca, the Consul of Italy in Shanghai, Matteo Tanteri, CICC's Vice Chairman Beijing and Giulia Gallarati, CICC's Secretary General attended the conference. CICC supported the event involving 28 Italian companies.
The fair also provided B2B matchmaking experience. In addition to making an appointment for business negotiation through ICBC's "global matchmaking" platform, enterprises participating in the conference could also go to the platform experience area to publish or browse global products and demand, while waiting for the B2B meetings. For the enterprises that have reached the preliminary cooperation intention, the fair also provided in-depth negotiation area and financial service consulting area, providing cross-border policy, law, logistics, finance and other aspects of consulting support for the implementation of their achievements.
The China-Europe CEO Summit is beneficial to achieving institutionalized high-level exchanges between Chinese and European enterprises, enhancing mutual trust, deepening bilateral cooperation, sharing future development, and contributing to the realization of practical cooperation between the Chinese and European business communities.
