Post Event - Career Day - Guangzhou, April 11th, 2019

Dear Members and Friends,

The 2^nd Edition Career Day was successfully held on April 11^th in Guangzhou.

First of all, CICC would like to give our special thanks to our Vice President, Mr. Massimiliano Guelfo for giving a welcoming speech, and Professor Gao Xiang, Professor Zhan Siqi and Professor Matteo Brandi from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies for attending and supporting the Event.

Also, we would like to thank Wang Jing & Co. Law Firm, in particular to Ms. Eloisa Hu for supporting the event as speaker.

At last but not least, we would like to express our thanks to the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies for kindly providing the venue for the Seminar and One-to-One Matchmaking Interview.

The event aimed to provide a match-making platform between companies and candidates and it was divided into two parts: Seminar and One-to-One Matchmaking Interview between companies and candidates.

The event began with a welcoming speech from the CICC Vice President, Mr. Massimiliano Guelfo, followed by a Seminar of Ms. Eloisa Hu from Wang Jing & Co. Law Firm.

The Seminar "Freshmen into labor market 101: how to face the labor market in the right way" aims at giving an overview on basics of Chinese labor law and regulations for freshmen. The cut of the event will be practical so students or fresh graduated can easily understand their rights and obligation before embarking in any labor relationship adventure. They discussed about: 

• Probation period terms: how to read through the lines and negotiating the right probation time.ow long, rights during probation period
• Labor contract essential elements: requirement for employment, salary system, work condition, etc.
• Termination and compensation: resignation; termination with one time severance; wrongful termination with double severance 
• Brief introduction of working visas in case of international employee application

After the speaker’s presentation, the session Q&A helped the participants to deepen the knowledge about the topic.

After the seminar, One-to-One Matchmaking Interview between companies and candidates started.

About 70 participants including representatives from 10 companies and candidates joined us.
