The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is pleased to inform you that “An Opportunity · Chongqing Brands” Global Promotion Rome Station was held successfully in Rome on September 1st. Organized by Western China International Communication Organization (WCICO) and under the guidance of the Information Office of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, this event aims to assist Chongqing brands in transitioning from Rome to Europe and meanwhile introduce to the attending guests the development situation and future cooperation opportunities of "Investing in Chongqing", "Made in Chongqing", "Chongqing Scenery", and "Chongqing Cuisine".
2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Italy and is an important year for the development of Sino-Italian relations, this is the reason why the first overseas promotion event of the "Opportunity China · Brand Chongqing" promotion campaign has chosen to land in Rome, Italy.
Among the distinguished guests there were: Zhang Qiong, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the Chongqing Municipal Committee, Director of the Municipal Government Information Office; Carla Fermariello, Councilor of the Municipal Government of Rome; Paolo Bazzoni, Vice President of China-Italy Chamber of Commerce; Zhang Xiaomei, Member of the Standing Committee and Minister of Publicity Department of the CPC Yongchuan District Committee; Xie Peizhi, head of the European Design Center of Changan Automobile Group; Liu Lei, General Manager of DE ZHUANG (Rome).
Mr. Paolo Bazzoni, Vice President of the China Italy Chamber of Commerce, invited by the Chongqing Government to the event and delivered a speech as the keynote speaker:
“Chongqing is an important city of strategic significance for Italy, and the investment enterprises in Chongqing have great potentials and have a very broad space for development, Southwest China is a very important area in the development plan of CICC, especially Chongqing and in the 20 years of Sino-Italian cooperation, Italian companies have invested fruitfully in Chongqing such as SAIC Fiat Hongyan Powertrain, Chongqing Sofima Filter, Chongqing ATS Automotive Electronics, and also many other SME companies and brands, including Vespa. This first initiative will effectively stimulate more cooperation between Chinese and Italian enterprises in the southwest region and in Italy, even in Europe, especially in the fields of machinery, automotive components, design, education and all lifestyle sectors, we are committed to support SME Italian companies to penetrate Chongqing and Southwest market with a tight support and collaboration from local government, we are planning more activities like this one in the future in Italy.”
This event invited leaders of Chinese foreign affairs agencies stationed in Rome, local chambers of commerce and enterprise representatives, media reporters, and others to participate. Starting from this European cultural center city, Chongqing's urban brand will be promoted to the European market, helping more industrial enterprises, products, and brands from China, the West, and Chongqing enter the European market and opening a new chapter of economic and cultural exchanges between Chongqing and Italy.
