On Sunday, 8th September 2024, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), together with the Italian Cultural Institute and the Italian Embassy in Beijing, organized an exclusive guided tour for its members and their families to the exhibition "A Journey of Knowledge: The Travels of Marco Polo and Its Legacy Between East and West" at the China World Art Museum in Beijing.
The tour, attended by around 60 participants, took visitors on an immersive journey through Marco Polo’s travels. It showcased the significant impact of his travels on the exchange of goods, ideas, and knowledge between the East and the West, through artifacts, narratives, and interactive displays.
One of the most engaging features of the exhibition was the Marco Polo VR experience where participants were given the opportunity to virtually traverse the Silk Road alongside Marco Polo.
A special thanks is extended to Silvano Cheng Mo, professor of Italian studies at Peking University and part of the exhibition's scientific committee who was the guide for the tour. His expertise and insights greatly enriched the experience for all attendees.
