05 July 2024

On July 1st 2024, China-Italy Chamber of Commerce in China (CICC) successfully co-host the SME Guangzhou Roundtable: Insights into China's Policy Updates event with the EU SME Center at Guangzhou International Cooperation Center (GICC).

Entrepreneurs from various industries across Europe and representatives from relevant Chinese external organizations gathered together to learn the updated information about European business in China and share opinions. At the beginning of the presentation, Mr. Igor Gan Representative of GICC provided a brief introduction to GICC's services, highlighting its role as a bridge connecting China and the world, expressing anticipation for more collaborations with international organizations and institutions.

Following this, Ms. Romina Di Martino, office manager of CICC in South China, introduced the CICC, covering aspects such as personnel composition, chamber services, and working groups. This provided attendees with a clearer understanding of how the chamber can better assist Italian businesses operating in China.

After the initial introductions, the keynote speaker, Mr. Liam Jia Team Leader of EU SME Center, elaborated on the current status of European businesses in China, the prevailing development trends, and how the EU SME Centre can assist European enterprises in expanding their market presence in China.

When all presentations finished, attendees actively engaged with the speakers, posing questions about the topics discussed. Many consulted Mr. Liam on issues related to their own business development, including aspects of import and export trade between Europe and China. The on-site discussions were highly spirited and insightful.

At the end of the event, participants engaged in networking, sharing their perspectives, making new connections, and expanding their business channels. In the atmosphere of free communication, the EU SME Presentation concluded successfully.
