On June 28-29, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macao (ICC HK·Macao) and the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) jointly welcomed a delegation from Genova (Italy) to China, where they collaboratively hosted events in Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
The delegation comprised distinguished guests from Genova: Pietro Piciocchi, Deputy Mayor of Genoa; Andrea Menegatti, Manager of the Genova Municipality Internationalization Office; Silvio Ferrando, International Business Manager of The Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority, and representatives from seven companies under the auspices of Spediporto Association.

During this visit, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) presented an overview of Shenzhen's economic and trade conditions as well as developments in relevant industries. They proposed that both parties strengthen cooperation in areas such as ports, green shipping, logistics, and infrastructure for land, sea, and air, to jointly explore development opportunities within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The Italian delegation introduced the city of Genoa, the Port of Western Liguria, and its logistics enterprises, expressing their willingness to collaborate with Shenzhen.
Both parties emphasized the considerable potential for collaboration between the Port of Genoa and the ports of Shenzhen, along with Shenzhen-based logistics companies. They acknowledged that such collaboration could yield numerous mutually advantageous opportunities and benefits for both sides.
May 28th - Welcome dinner
Nansha Authorities & Genova Delegation
Pietro Piciocchi, Deputy Mayor of Genoa, and Ruan Xiaohong, Member, Standing Committee of CPC Nansha District Committee expressed their appreciation for the dinner.
China and Italy exchanged fine gifts imbued with their respective national characteristics, symbolizing the enduring friendship between the two nations. Subsequently, the delegation savored an exquisite Cantonese dinner, immersing themselves in the charm of South China.
May 29th - Visit to Guangzhou port and meeting with Nansha authorities
The delegation visited Nansha International Logistics Center, where they received a comprehensive explanation from port officials and were guided to a vantage point offering a panoramic view of the bustling Guangzhou port.

Lin Hanyu, Deputy Director General, Nansha District Bureau of Commerce introduced Nansha district’s logistics industry and Li Mingzhong, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd introduced the business of Guangzhou Port Group and the shipping routes to Italy.
May 29th - Networking lunch with Consul General and Meeting with Guangzhou Government
The delegation enjoyed the Networking lunch with the ltalian Consul General in Canton, Valerio De Parolis, Subsequently, institutional representatives convened with Lai Zhihong, Deputy Mayor of Guangzhou Municipal People's Government. The parties emphasized the significance of enhancing relations and trade between the two cities.
