Deloitte China Sustainability Awards

Dear Members,

The China Italy Chamber of Commerce would like to bring to your attention the inaugural Deloitte China Sustainability Awards, an initiative supported by The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with the aim to encourage and reward best-practice corporate sustainability among multinationals in China.

Being awarded for sustainable practices in China can bring about tremendous opportunities for companies as well as it can lead the way for other companies wanting to be more responsible and sustainable.

Who can be nominated and deadline
Multinational Companies (MNCs) registered in Greater China for at least 3 years can be nominated until 1 January 2014 by their management for the 2014 Deloitte China Sustainability Awards. All winning companies will be invited to the Sustainability Awards ceremony to be held in Shanghai on 27 February 2014.

Award categories & criteria

The award categories are:

1. Leadership Award - given to a company that demonstrates a sustainability leadership or takes a pioneering sustainability role in China.
2. Innovation Award - given to a company that demonstrates an innovative approach to sustainability implementation or has shown noteworthy initiative for a specific project in a new area.
3. Best Environmental Performance - awarded to a company that demonstrates `best in class` performance across relevant environmental indicators affecting key stakeholders. The definition of `Environmental` in this context is defined in accordance with the GRI G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines.
4. Best Social Performance - awarded to a company that demonstrates `best in class` performance across relevant social indicators affecting key stakeholders . The definition of `Social` in this context is defined in accordance with the GRI G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines.
5. Best Community Investment – given to a company that has developed a noteworthy community Investment, program and / or initiative that has brought significant value or contribution to a local community. This award focuses on `community` or `communities` as the sole key stakeholder.
6. 2014 Theme Award - Water Stewardship – awarded to a company that demonstrates a leadership approach to water management.

How to nominate
Nominations can be submitted by filling in the entry forms on Deloitte`s website and providing the necessary documents.
