On 19 July, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, visited the Hongkou District Office in Shanghai, meeting Chen Shuai, Deputy Mayor; Wu Zhiyong, Director of the Commerce Commission; Zhang Jingyun, Deputy Director of the General Bureau of Foreign Affairs Trade; and Tian Jing, Deputy Director of the Trade Commission.
The meeting was attended by Lorenzo Riccardi, Chairman of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, Giada Piccinini, Treasurer of CICC, Emilio Cassanelli, Board of member of CICC, Antonella Fontanarosa, CICC Vice Secretary General & Shanghai Office Manager, and Chen Wei, CICC Public Affair Manager.
As highlighted by the CICC Chairman Lorenzo Riccardi, CICC will play a more active role in promoting economic and trade cooperation and exchanges between China and Italy to a higher level, leveraging important time points such as the 700th anniversary of Marco Polo's death.
The dialogue and the conversation focused on strengthening trade relations between Companies from Italy and Shanghai Area Market, exploring potential business opportunities, and discussing ways to facilitate the operation of Italian enterprises in Shanghai. The participants recognized the mutual benefits of increased economic engagement and agreed to explore further areas of cooperation.
Shanghai Hongkou District Government Deputy Mayor Mr.Chen Shuai introduced the Hongkou district which is located at the intersection of Huangpu River and Suzhou River, and is an important corner of Shanghai's "Golden Triangle". It is the core area of the city's central activity zone. Currently, Hongkou District is focusing on the strategic goal of "Shanghai North Bund, New Urban Benchmark", focusing on areas such as shipping, finance, and trade, accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system, and creating a headquarters cluster area for Shanghai's "five centers" and a core carrier area for the "four major functions".
Mr. Chen Shuai actively proposed to promoting exchanges and development with Italian enterprises in shipping, logistics, wine, cultural industries, to maintain close contact, and in the future to carry out business visits, business meetings and other activities.
