THE RISE OF 3D PRINTING AND ROBOTICS, Shanghai, 22nd January, 2012

THE RISE OF 3D PRINTING AND ROBOTICS
How is it changing your world?

Science fiction writers have been fascinated with robots and the threat it imposes on our way of living. Few realize how close we are now to robots being part of our manufacturing and the effect of automation on our daily lives.

What will the world look like in 5, 10 or 20 years?
What can we suggest our children to study?
What will the future bring for those whose jobs will be replaced by machines?
Will China still be the manufacturer of the world when costs are no longer determined by the cost of labor?

Three speakers whose job gives them the opportunity to be exposed to the cutting edge of innovation will give their view on the technology changes we will see not too long from now.

Mr. Martijn Tideman - TNO Automotive Safety Solutions
As the Business Development Manager ADAS for TASS International, a leading software company in the automotive sector, Martijn will speak about “The future of self-driving cars”.

Ms. Kim Francois - Materialise
In 2010 Kim became GM of Materialise China, a Belgian leading producer in 3D printing. Her topic of the evening will be “The new factory”.

Mr. Jaap van Etten - Consulate of the Netherlands
Being attaché of Innovation at the Consulate of the Netherlands, Jaap will speak about “Innovations in automation” that affect our society and will change our way of living.

Mr. Huw Andrews - PwC
Huw runs PwC`s China Operations consulting for Auto and Industrial. He will go deeply into the effect that these trends have on comparative costs of production.

Mr. Ari van der Steenhoven - Eastwingate
Ari has been doing business in China for decades and is the CEO of Eastwingate. He will lead the discussion on the social effects these changes are likely to have on our society and especially on China.

Join us for an evening on 3D printing, robotics and the influence on comparative costs on production!
