Invitation | POLIMI Day at Tongji & Tongji-PoliMi Collaborative Symposium

Dear Members and Friends,

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is glad to invite you to attend the POLIMI Day, an event co-organized by Tongji University and Politecnico di Milano. On the occasion of the 117th anniversary of Tongji University, the POLIMI Day at Tongji & Tongji-PoliMi Collaborative Symposium will be held on May 21st at Tongji University in Shanghai.

The partnership between Tongji University and Politecnico di Milano, among Tongji's earliest international strategic partners, has a rich history since the first inter-college cooperation agreement 1998. The two universities have worked with joined academic efforts toward the signing of an inter-university cooperation framework agreement in 2000, marking a new stage of all-round and deepened partnership.

Over the years, Tongji University and Politecnico di Milano have been expanding and deepening fruitful international cooperation both at the university level and among colleges. The partnership has contributed to establishing a platform for Chinese and international faculty and students, fostering mutual exchange, visits, and research collaboration, and the universities have cultivated nearly 1,000 Chinese and Italian double-degree students. The PoliTong program jointly constructed by Tongji University, Politecnico di Milano, and Politecnico di Torino has become a brand program of Sino-Italian cooperation in higher education after more than ten years of development through joint cultivation, shared curriculum, research cooperation, and cultural exchanges.

Recently, in order to cultivate high-level talents with international competence and innovative spirit, and to contribute wisdom and strength to the global scientific and technological progress and social development, Tongji University and Politecnico di Milano have been committed to deepening the cooperation of PhD education and research teams.

At the event, the team of Politecnico di Milano will present an introduction of Politecnico di Milano and Tongji Collaboration, and the first faculty group of research collaboration teams from both universities will give joint presentations on their research topics and prospects. The two universities will sign an agreement for establishing a PhD double degree program, opening a new chapter of talent cultivation and research cooperation.

We cordially welcome colleagues from academia and industry to participate in the exchange of cutting-edge trends in relevant fields. We strongly recommend this opportunity to students who are interested in Italian education and research and Politecnico di Milano, especially the double PhD program between Politecnico di Milano and Tongji University.
