Up to 60% of all cross-border M&As don`t achieve their defined targets nor are they able to make use of the aimed synergies. The numbers stay the same when it comes to mergers and takeovers of Chinese or European companies.
To address these issues, tonight’s presentation is divided into two parts:
First, Peter Hoecklin, President of Trumpf China, is talking about the successful takeover of Jiangsu Jinfangyuan CNC Machine Company (JFY). Mr. Hoecklin will discuss the challenges that the company was facing when integrating JFY, and elaborate on the post-merger phase, synergy effects and strategic decisions that needed to be taken.
In the second part, Sandy Zhang and Daniela Fehring will analyze the risks and chances of cross-border mergers. They answer questions such as: To what extent does leadership capability impact the business results of European-Chinese and Chinese-European M&A? How can leaders make use of the company differences to achieve higher productivity and better market access? How can companies use their M&A experiences for additional projects?
