Cross-border Ecommerce

Beijing
20 Gennaio 2016
Save the date! The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is glad to invite you to the seminar "Cross-border Ecommerce" held by Marco Mamone, Customs Attaché of the Embassy of Italy in Beijing. The event will take place at the Italian Institute of Culture (Address: San Li Tun, Dong Er Jie 2 - 三里屯东二街2 号) on Wednesday, January 20th, from 1.30 to 3.30 p.m.. The Chinese customs authorities confirmed their attendance to the event with the aim of covering the topics of  ecommerce, free trade zone, bonded zone and customs inspections. They will point out the potentiality of selling Italian products through the new duty free shops (so far 400 of these shops have been opened to the public).  A translation from Italian to Chinese will be offered.   Introduction: The growth of Ecommerce on Chinese market determined new opportunities for business as well as new challenges for the Chinese customs authorities in managing the increased flow of goods that Chinese purchase abroad.  Customs administration is one of the main stakeholders in the process for the importation of goods. Particularly for Ecommerce, the customs clearance of goods is one of the main factors affecting the timing of their delivery to the final consumers. Accordingly, last year the Chinese authorities issued some regulations, which along the already existing law provisions, set the framework for the trade of foreign goods purchased by Chinese on web sites. The review of the measures adopted will highlight the approach by customs to the issues and will provide some useful information for the relevant business in China.  Lastly, the seminar will be also an opportunity to bring to the attention of the Italian Embassy the major difficulties encountered by Italian economic operators with China Customs Administration.   Objective: The seminar will highlight the main legal provisions and procedures applicable to cross border Ecommerce, with particular reference to the sales B2C and the major initiatives by the Chinese authorities in order to facilitate and speed up the procedures for the clearance of goods.   Outcome: After attending this seminar you will have a more solid understanding about limitations and opportunities linked to customs legislation and procedures. About the Speaker: In 2013, the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli appointed Marco Mamone as Customs Attaché at the Embassy of Italy in Beijing with the aim of facilitating relations between Italian and Chinese customs administrations. The work carried out within the Commercial Office of the Embassy includes the monitoring of major legislative changes in the field of customs.
